Welcome nature explorers! Become naturalists, birders, and bay, bug and plant biologists this summer with Audubon Summer Adventures! Prepare to get a little dirty, sing songs, play games, experiment, and most of all have fun with new friends and our experienced Teacher Naturalists, all while respecting nature and learning to be earth stewards.

Campers will investigate all the wonderful habitats our 9.5 acre Sanctuary has to offer and some groups may hike to the nearby Cove to search for leopard sharks and Blackie’s Pasture to explore salt marshes, mudflats, and of course enjoy its broad fields.

“My kids loved every thing about it. The counselors were wonderful, the activities were so fun. Everyone was nice and helpful and the kids just loved it!”

NEW!

Afternoon Adventures with Audubon has campers connect with nature in this unstructured, innovative program to engage children in creative outdoor play for a few hours each afternoon. Campers lead the explorations! They may build castles in the sand, create forts on the beach, seek out snakes and spiders, or watch the birds fly by. THIS PROGRAM IS FROM 2:30pm - 5pm and is available most weeks this summer. Register online today!

See what camp parents said about last year’s Expedition Camp!

“Thought this was an excellent camp for the older children. Visiting the different places gave them an opportunity to learn more about our area. Mindy was very good with the children and looked after them well.”

“This was my daughters first camp experience and she really enjoyed meeting new kids and participating in other camp experiences. She loved being out doors. She was very eager to tell me about the results of the experiments they performed at Richardson Bay.”

“Definitely think you should offer the camp for older children next year. Many thanks for a great week!”

“I hope you keep the Expedition Camp!”

See what camp parents are saying about Audubon Summer Adventure Camp!

“Our son LOVED your camp!!”

“Great program! We are lucky to have this where we live.”

“Kudos to everyone at Audubon, it was a fabulous learning experience for the children.”

“My son is a somewhat shy guy and he instantly felt comfortable at the camp - that says a lot about your staff including the young helpers!”

“My child loved his time at Audubon. He enjoyed sharing what he did each day with us, and was proud of what he learned.”

“We will be attending for even more then 2 weeks next summer!”

“Great staff. Such a high quality of instructors. I was impressed!”

“I knew that my daughters were going to love their experience this week. I wasn't as sure about my very sporty son who generally turns down his nose at anything that's not specifically sports related. I was thrilled with how much he LOVED camp this week and how excited he was to talk about his experiences and his learning. You are doing an incredible job. Thank you.”

“I loved the setting, the pace, and the exploration of it all. The kids adored finding bugs, playing games, exploring the bay, and just being there.”

“My daughter loves your camp and we love that she is always learning something new there.”
“ALL DAY the kids were immersed in a natural habitat where their curiosity, imagination and sense of fun could run wild.”

“Our son loved just about everything to do with your wonderful camp as did we, his parents! It was his favorite camp of 4 camps he attended this summer! He thought all the counselors and "JN"s were great and he probably loved the games you created for them to play the most.  We as parents thought it was brilliant how the games themselves were these wonderful, really important facts and life lessons that were wrapped up in a captivating game so they learned these things with great ease when otherwise he would have never remembered or perhaps been interested enough to digest the valuable information!

We also were thrilled with his new-found comfort and affinity towards nature that we have had some trouble instilling in him on our own. He ripped around in that tall grass where there wasn't even a path and the grass was taller than he was and he would NEVER have done that before! And he gained a respect and understanding of bugs that he didn't have before.”

“I loved knowing my kids were having a great time out in nature and were safe and well cared for.”
